Product Description

A BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) incubator is specialized laboratory equipment that maintains precise, low temperatures to test the amount of oxygen microorganisms consume to decompose organic matter in water samples. It typically operates at a stable 20C for a 5-day testing period.

How It Works

Heating and Cooling: Unlike standard incubators that only heat (usually up to 37C), a BOD incubator features both a heating element and a refrigeration compressor. This allows it to hold temperatures well below ambient room levels (typically between 5C and 60C).

Controlled Environment: It uses a fan for continuous air circulation, maintaining high uniformity. The environment is kept completely dark to prevent algae in water samples from photosynthesizing and producing extra oxygen.
